FTP, which denotes File Transfer Protocol, represents the most popular method of transmitting content to a hosting account. With FTP client software that’s pre-installed on your desktop computer or laptop, you can establish a connection to your hosting server and copy all the web files that you need with a few clicks of the mouse. You can do this via an easy-to-use graphical interface and it is as simple as dragging and dropping the files in question. The advantage of using File Transfer Protocol is that you will be able to create several accounts, each one with a different level of access to your web space, so if you have to give someone access, for instance – a web designer, they will be able to access only a specific directory and will not be able to access the remaining content or any other information, including personal details. Three things are needed in order to be able to set up an FTP connection – a hostname, which is normally a domain or an IP, a username and a password.

FTP Accounts in Shared Hosting

Our shared hosting packages will allow you to set up numerous FTP accounts with just several mouse clicks through the Hepsia Control Panel and to select what web files and folders each account can access. There is no upper limit to the total number of FTP accounts that you are allowed to set up, so you’ll be able to have as many as you want at any given time. If you wouldn’t like to use a given FTP account any longer or if a web designer has completed their task and you do not want them to access your web content anymore, you can simply remove the account in question. The Control Panel’s FTP section will allow you to check all currently active FTP accounts displayed alphabetically, together with different options, which you can access with one single click of the mouse. You will be able to change the access path and the password, to download an auto-configuration file, and so on. We also have in-depth help tutorials, which will help you administer your FTP accounts should you need to deal with any complications.

FTP Accounts in Semi-dedicated Servers

Our Linux semi-dedicated servers are extremely powerful, which makes them excellent for hosting a large number of websites. Speaking of which, we’ve decided not to set a restriction on the number of FTP accounts that you can create, so you can have a different FTP account for each website that you host on our servers. All FTP accounts will be displayed in alphabetical order in the corresponding section of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, which is offered with each semi-dedicated server account. For each of them, you will be able to view the access path and to edit it, if necessary. Also, you can set up the account in an FTP client of your liking by downloading an auto-configuration file and running it on your home computer, which will save you time. If you’ve never used a web hosting account before, you can check our detailed video tutorials, which are available in the very same Control Panel section.

FTP Accounts in VPS Servers

The VPS server plans that we’re offering will permit you to set up unlimited FTP accounts to manage the content of your sites. This is valid irrespective of which VPS package you order and which hosting Control Panel you choose upon registration – cPanel, DirectAdmin or Hepsia. In any case, you’ll have FTP access to the VPS server without installing any software, as an FTP server is an integral part of the basic software suite which comes with the Virtual Private Server packages by default. You can set up one FTP account for each domain or subdomain that you have registered or even separate accounts for a single folder – if you want several users to connect to the content inside it with their own personal log-in details. With any of the available Control Panels, creating, removing or editing an FTP account takes no more than several mouse clicks through an intuitive web interface.
