A catch-all email mailbox receives emails sent to inactive email addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, a message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been activated for the latter. In this way, you can get messages from friends or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Just one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be sent to a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Shared Hosting

You’ll be able to configure a catch-all e-mailbox easily if you’ve got a shared hosting account with us. The Email Manager tool in our custom Hepsia hosting Control Panel is feature-loaded, yet surprisingly easy to work with, and it will allow you to activate various features, including the catch-all one, with only a few clicks. All the mailboxes that you have created will be listed alphabetically in this section and to the right of each one of them you’ll notice a tiny "Catch-all" logo. Clicking on it once will enable the feature, clicking it for a second time will deactivate it. As you can have only one such catch-all mailbox per domain, our system will alert you if you’ve already got another mailbox with this feature enabled or if you have active email forwarding.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all option can be activated easily if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you have created using the domain names hosted in your account will be enumerated in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will notice a small-size button conveniently located right next to each one of them. With just one click, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your choosing provided that there isn't another mailbox under the same domain name with the option already activated and there isn't activated email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and activate this option through the context menu that will come into sight. If any of the conditions for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not met, our system will warn you, but will not deactivate or replace anything automatically.
