.NAME Domains

Introduced in 2001, the .NAME top-level extension is the only one meant for personal websites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictitious names, aliases and/or other designations people are popular by. Initially, solely third-level registrations were possible, so if you desired to buy john.doe.name, you were supposed to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also allowed. Already taken 3rd-level names remained operational.

Through our firm, you can register your .NAME domain for a time interval between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to edit the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to create Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an active domain to our company if you take its EPP transfer key from the present registrar and we will renew it once the transfer has been done. There are no special prerequisites on who can secure a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the concept behind its creation alive, the Registry may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.

The .NAME universal TLD is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the proper spelling in your native language.
